Housing

Substrate

Heating

Before adopting your beloved leopard gecko you must 1st have some sort of housing available. I recommend to start off housing a single Leo in a 10-20 Gallon tank and gradually increase size as he/she ages. You can bin your reptile until he she reaches a more juvenile age but I recommend something nicer for your own visual preference even if the gecko could not care less.

Nutrients

Vitamin C left in a dish at all times in the tank, and dusted food every other days with vitamin C/d3 mix.. 1 part vitamin d3 to 4 parts vitamin C.
You can also add a UVB 2-5% low bulb during the day to add a boost of vitamin d3. This is important as your geckos can get MBD, metabolic bone disease.

The preferred substrate would be reptile carpet, tile,  or paper towel. There is no need to shred the paper towel you just lay it down flat on the bottom of the tank and pick up for easy clean up.

Food

Fresh water needs to be in the tank at all times.
Babies eat daily, juveniles eat daily to every second day and adults can eat every 3-5 days.

The proper food sources are nothing but insects listed below or you risk harming your leopard gecko.
Meal worms, super worms, wax worms, Dubai roaches, crickets, silk worms.
For a staple diet I recommend meal worms alone with the addition to super worms once in awhile to give a little change.

A must need for a Leo is a heating pad that covers 1/3rd of the tank that hooked up to a thermostat this way you can keep track of his/her tank temps. The hot side needs to be housed with a moist hide/hide and needs to be at around a 87/90°F for proper belly digestion. I can not stress this enough... Belly heat is a very crucial thing when it comes to the digestive tract of a leopard gecko. As for basking heat lamps these are a big fat nono. Regardless of all those reptile owners who states that their geckos thrived in it , they are in fact taking a risky chance in causing issues. A healthy gecko can live longer then a dog if cared for properly.
the cooler side of the tank should be 74-80°F, and the night time temps should be 70-75°F. If you insist on some sort of lighting then a 2-5% low UVB bulb is a wonderful idea but only meant for daytime.

Eye Pleasing Decor

As for any other decor in the tank, you can use fake plants, rocks, (large enough to not cause stomach impaction) stickers, backdrop, home made hides and rocks out of styrofoam, polyfil, paints, and just about anything you could think of. The designs are endless.

Hides

More then one hide in your gecko's tank is a must. Preferred 3+ hides. You will need one for the hot hide, one as a moist hide and one as a cool hide. If you offer your geckos more then one hide you will have less of an issue with shedding, digestion, and it's temperament.
